The image above is the first page you see when you click above. The first thing you do is you click the what best describes you tab. You have 4 choices: student, parent, educator or working professional. Then you click the for what year do you need a scholarship tab for example High school freshman, college junior etc. Then you enter your zip code and click submit. Next you will create your personal profile. This is where you specify your name, age, ethnicity and demographics. This information will help the scholarship search provide you with reasonable scholarship opportuties. For example you don't want scholarships for japaneese students if your not japaneese. That's why it is important to be perfectly honest. That includes listing a primary email address that you regularly check, because the scholarship search will contact you via email.
You can specify different options in the scholarship searches control panel.Do you want to be contact via email How often do you wish to receive emails Do you want information for financial besides scholarships Do you want scholarship essay contest information Do you want to send your information to other organizations
You can specify how you would like to be notified about scholarship opportunities and approaching deadlines. You get reminders about deadlines, it's like your teacher saying don't forget your project is due Monday. You can't beat the benefits of using a scholarship searc. The options above are also important because it allows you to control what types of information gets sent to your email. There is also a feature that allows you to disable email notifications but still keep an active profile. The problem with this is that you just have to login to your account and check the messages instead of just checking your email. Other advantages of scholarship searches are that they save you time and money. You don't have to go spend money on books and guides (even though that would help). A scholarship search is almost like having a person that finds available scholarships for you. Also the more scholarship searches that you register with the more likely you are to find a scholarship. Good Luck!
